Zoo animals roam flooded Georgian town




Animals roam streets of Tbilisi, the Capital of Georgia, after flooding kills 12, frees zoo animals


Twelve people died in the flooding, according to Civil Georgia, a news website run by the nongovernmental organization UN Association of Georgia.


The body of a white tiger lies on a stretcher near a zoo in Tbilisi, Georgia, on Wednesday, June 17. Police shot and killed the tiger after it killed a man at a warehouse. 
 On June 14, the hundreds of wild animals, include  lions, tigers, bears and wolves escaped from a Tbilisi zoo after severe flooding destroyed their enclosures over the weekend. . Some animals have since been recaptured. Others died in the floods or have been killed by police scouring the streets for escapees. 


Men carry a crocodile that was found in the zoo territory under a pile of wood and debris on June 15.
